Altro mega confanetto in uscita in questi giorni e pensate che copre solo il periodo dal 1978 al 1982 della carriera dei Whitesnake! Contiene i 5 album di studio, il Live…In The Heart Of The City, 2 CD con i concerti al Festival di Reading del 1979 e 1980 registrati per la BBC e in precedenza inediiti, un DVD con un “Official Booteg” registrato nel 1980 a Washington, DC, anche questo inedito. Più un libro di quello succosi, 90 pagine formato gigante, con foto mai viste e una intervista a David Coverdale nonché un breve saggio del giornalista Geoff Barton della rivista Classic Rock. E anche, per i patiti del vinile, un 45 giri in vinile bianco con l’EP di esordio Snakebite che conteneva i primi 4 brani incisi dal gruppo. Il tutto temo che vi costerà ben oltre i 100 euro. Ma ormai è un classico!

Avete appena comprato la serie di CD “rimasterizzati e potenziati” della discografia dei Thin Lizzy con aggiunte molte tracce inedite tratte dal materiale BBC e ora, giustamente, per punirvi, la Universal pubblica questo cofanetto che raccoglie gran parte del materiale registrato dalla band di Phil Lynott presso l’emittente di stato inglese, comprese le famose Peel Sessions (uscite anche a parte) e molto altro.
Se volete tirare fuori i vostri CD e fare il classico “celo-manca” per vedere se vale la pena di ricomprare per l’ennesima volta, questa è la tracklist dei contenuti completa e dettagliata:

Se più modestamente volete accontentarvi la Universal pubblicherà anche una versione doppia con una selezione di 33 brani dal settuplo CD (si può dire, ho controllato sul dizionario). Anche perché pure questo cofanetto si avvicinerà pericolosamente alla soglia dei 100 euro.
E tenetevi pronti, prima di Natale usciranno molti altri Box assai appetibili e dai costi micidiali, a partire da questo di Costello, con gioco accluso che vi costerà intorno ai 250 euri. Per 1DVD, 1 CD e un 10 pollici. Se ce li avete! Se no aspettate il 2012 e usciranno anche le versioni per “poveri”
