Bruce Cockburn – Rumours Of Glory – 8CD + DVD – True North – 28-10-2014
“L’altro” Bruce, quello canadese, è sempre stato uno dei miei cantautori preferiti, negli anni ’70 soprattutto ha pubblicato un body of work di unà qualità stupefacente, una serie di album di altissimo livello che lo hanno reso uno degli artisti di culto più considerati dalla critica musicale e dai fans della buona musica (e comunque globalmente la sua discografia ha venduto più di 2 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo). Senza dimenricare che anche in seguito Bruce Cockburn ha saputo proporre, con meno continuità, altri dischi di notevole spessore.Ora anche per lui arriva finalmente il momento del cofanetto retrospettivo, “purtroppo” la True North, la sua etichetta canadese storica, ha deciso di andare per il collector’s item, ossia un cofanetto a tiratura limitata e numerata, con copie singolarmente autografate dall’autore, il cui prezzo però schizza alle solite vette improponibili: negli Usa si parla di una cifra intorno ai 150 dollari (tipo il Basement Tapes Complete di Dylan, Ok, con due CD e un DVD in più), in Europa si andrà, al momento in cui scrivo, oltre i 150 euro e leggermente meno in Canada, da dove tutto origina, ma sempre ad un prezzo “rispettabile”, a cui vanno aggiunte le spese di spedizione. A questo punto si potrebbe sperare in un estratto dal box, visto che le cose più interessanti, gli inediti, sono raccolti alla fine, nell’ottavo CD (14 brani, due sono nel primo CD) e nel DVD del concerto, registrato tra il 15 e il 17 maggio del 2008, nello Slice Of Live Tour.
Lo stesso giorno, il 28 ottobre, uscirà anche il libro di memorie di Cockburn. Va bene si dirà, ma c’è il solito libro “sciccoso” di 90 pagine, con foto rare, informazioni esclusive sui singoli brani contenuti, però, scusate se sono venale, ma sono sempre tanti soldi. Per cui anche se, come mi pare di avere già detto in altre occasioni, ho avuto l’occasione di essere sullo stesso palco con Bruce Cockburn (niente paura, semplicemente la radio presso cui lavoravo faceva parte degli organizzatori del concerto tenuto al Palalido di Milano il 21 aprile del 1980 e quindi ero seduto su uno sgabello a godermelo, a due centimetri da lui), ci penserò bene sopra, per un eventuale acquisto, magari sperando in una importazione italiana della IRD, che è la distributrice ufficiale per il nostro mercato, ma visto il manufatto limitato sarà dura (chiederò).
