Prima, un breve comunicato per i naviganti. Visto che ci scrivo (questo mese appaiono 8 mie recensioni, che comunque leggete gratis e in anteprima anche sul Blog, insieme a tutto il resto, in questi giorni sto preparando quella del nuovo John Hiatt, molto bello), volevo avvisarvi che, per la serie strano ma vero, è già uscito il numero di Settembre del Buscadero, un miracolo, considerando gli abituali ritardi.
Per la serie la pubblicità è l’anima del commercio e quindi svolti questi doveri promozionali passiamo a questo ennesimo cofanetto dedicato ai Beatles. Se cliccate sull’immagine si allarga a dismisura e potete godere la confezione in tutto il suo splendore. Uscirà il 9 ottobre, quindi siamo nettamente un anticipo ma le notizie sono già state rese note per cui vai con le news:
Magical Mystery Tour (per il 45° Anniversario) uscirà in DVD o Blu-Ray, con il film originale di 53 minuti ma nelle Special Features ci sarà tutto questo Ben Di Dio:

– The Beatles allowed the BBC to film them in the edit suite where they were working on Magical Mystery Tour. This was then turned into a promo by the BBC, who shot their own additional footage. It was then broadcast on Top of the Pops to mark the “Hello Goodbye” single going to No 1 in December 1967.

– A scene directed by John featuring Nat Jackley and not included in the original film.
Ivor Cutler – “I’m Going In A Field” (2m 35s)
– Ivor performs “I’m Going In A Field”, in a field. This scene was not included in the original film.
Traffic – “Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush” (1m 53s)
– The filming of Traffic acting out their 1967 hit single “Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush” was commissioned by The Beatles for possible inclusion in Magical Mystery Tour but was not used in the final edit.
E comunque il 5 ottobre sarà anche il 50° Anniversario dell’uscita di Love Me Do (vero, non come quello farlocco dei 50 anni dalla prima esibizione dal vivo degli Stones?!?), la EMI non farà nulla? Mistero. Per il momento tutto tace!
Non è tutto, pare che, come comunicato dal regista Michael Lindsey-Hogg, nel 2013 finalmente avremo le edizioni del film Let It Be, sia in DVD che in Blu-Ray. Dovrebbe essere un doppio con un documentario sul Making Of del film e moltissime scene che al tempo il regista aveva dovuto tagliare per l’atmosfera, diciamo, non sempre serena che aveva caratterizzato quel periodo. Ma questo è ancora da confermare. Però visto che gli annunciati Yellow Submarine e Magical Mystery Tour si sono concretizzati, sperare non costa nulla.
