Come già detto nel Post precedente, i primi 3 dischi sono una antologia, con alcuni demo acustici come bonus, il quarto CD contiene registrazioni BBC dal vivo del 1977 e 1979, quindi sempre dell’epoca con i Rumour, come gran parte del cofanetto che raccoglie anche materiale del periodo “solista”. Il 5° e il 6° album riportano un concerto completo del 2015 al Forum di Londra, sempre con i Rumour riuniti per l’occasione. Infine Il DVD contiene un altro concerto del 2015 al Brook di Southampton più materiale vario televisivo tratto da spettacoli della BBC, sempre degli anni ’70.

Quindi direi interessantissimo, 40 anni di grande musica rock!

Come al solito, periodicamente, un breve giro su alcune delle prossime, ma future, uscite più interessanti. In attesa di ulteriori notizie sulle tracklist e sui formati definitivi di Grrr dei Rolling Stones e di Celebration Day dei Led Zeppelin ed in attesa, a metà ottobre, di un bel box sestuplo dal vivo dei Gov’t Mule, Georgia Bootleg Box, cominciamo col dire che il “famoso” Psychedelic Pill di Neil Young & Crazy Horse ha acquisito una nuova e definitiva data per il 30 ottobre, su Reprise/Warner. Tutto assume un senso, due pezzi da oltre 16 minuti e uno da 27 minuti per il secondo disco nuovo di Neil Young quest’anno, che nel corso del tour americano della scorsa estate ha un po’ snobbato Americana suonando molti brani del nuovo album non ancora uscito.

Contrariamente a quanto si potrebbe pensare vedendo la foto di copertina non è il nuovo disco dei Rockets riuniti, come si potrebbe arguire dalle pelate, ma quello di una reunion ben più attesa, Graham Parker and The Rumour, Three Chords Good, dopo 31 anni di nuovo insieme, e come canta Graham in uno dei brani, Coathangers. con il suo noto humor nero britannico: “Let’s go back to a time in a prehistory,”. Etichetta Primary Wave, data di uscita, 20 novembre. Niente lista dei titoli, per il momento.

Si poteva pensare che passasse un anno senza un “nuovo disco” dei Doors? Certo che no e allora in anticipo sul prossimo Natale esce, il 23 ottobre, in vari formati, questo Live At The Bowl ’68, Eagle Rock Enternaiment. Però si tratta della edizione definitiva! CD, DVD e Blu-ray a scelta, con gli ultimi due formati che rispetto alla versione audio basica, aggiungono ” Over an hour of new bonus material including Echoes From The Bowl, The Doors route to the Hollywood Bowl, You Had To Be There, memories of The Doors performance at the Bowl, Reworking The Doors, an in-depth look at how the film was restored, and three bonus performances: Wild Child from The Smothers Brothers Show in 1968, Light My Fire from The Jonathan Winters Show in Dec 1967 and a version of Van Morrison’s Gloria with specially created visuals.” Mentre il contenuto audio è il seguente:

Sempre parlando di video (o Blu-ray) esce anche Live Kisses di Paul McCartney. Sempre Eagle Rock. 120 minuti, è la registrazione dello spettacolo registrato ai Capitol Studios di Hollywood in occasione della presentazione dell’ultimo album di McCartney, Kisses On The Bottom. Questa invece mi sembra una sorpresa degna di nota e assai più interessante del Greatest Hits con due miseri brani nuovi. Per l’occasione è stato restaurato il famoso filmato del 1965 Charlie Is My Darling dei Rolling Stones, che segue il gruppo nei due giorni passati in Irlanda, tra Belfast e Dublino, il 3 e 4 settembre di quell’anno. Mostrato ad alcuni cinema e teatri e al Festival di Mannheim nel 1966, il documentario di 50 minuti era poi scomparso nel buco nero dei problemi legali con Allen Klein e la sua ABKCO. Ora che “purtroppo” Klein ci ha lasciati, il 6 novembre uscirà in una versione restaurata ed ampliata a 65 minuti per la ABKCO Films. Oltre al DVD e al Blu-Ray ne dovrebbe uscire anche una Super Deluxe Box Set Edition quintupla. Appena ne so di più vi aggiorno. Mentre, al momento. sembrano essersi perse le tracce dell’altro documentario sugli Stones, Crossfire Hurricane.
