The Rolling Stones – “In Mono” – Decca/Universal/ABKCO 15 CD Box Set – 30-09-2016
Dopo il cofanetto dei Beatles, uscito nel 2009 e quello di Bob Dylan, pubblicato nel 2010, era quasi inevitabile che prima o poi sarebbe arrivato anche quello dedicato agli album della discografia dei Rolling Stones, i dischi pubblicati dalla Decca e dalla London nel corso degli anni ’60. I dischi originali, le antologie che raggruppavano i singoli di successo, per un totale di 14 CD, più un 15° intitolato Stray Cats che raccoglierà brani estratti da singoli, EP e alcune rarità. Il tutto verrà pubblicato dalla Universal che è anche la proprietaria dei diritti sugli album dei Beatles. Quindi a settembre (e poi per il mercato natalizio), in occasione dell’uscita del disco Live At The Hollywood Bowl si riproporrà il consueto dualismo tra Beatles e Stones, anche se poi a ben vedere ormai, a grandi linee, gli acquirenti sono gli stessi, ovvero quelli che comprano ancora i dischi (vinile compreso, perché ovviamente questo box uscirà anche in versione limitata in LP).
Una particolarità del box è quella di contenere The Rolling Stones e The Rolling Stones No.2, i primi due dischi della discografia inglese, che non erano stati inclusi nella serie di ristampe rimasterizzate pubblicate dalla ABKCO nel 2002 e basata soprattutto sulla discografia americana. Ora tutto sta a vedere se anche i singoli album verranno pubblicati (ma non pare probabile visto che non è stato fatto né per i Beatles né per Dylan): quindi chi vuole completare la propria discografia, e non aveva acquistato le versioni uscite negli anni ’90 in CD dovrà fare un pensierino all’acquisto del box che, indicativamente, avrà un prezzo tra i 150 e i 200 euro, a seconda delle edizioni dei vari paesi. Come sempre, e come gli appassionati sanno, i master e i missaggi delle edizioni mono erano differenti da quelli delle versioni in stereo e quindi interessanti da avere, per chi ne ha le possibilità finanziarie. Comunque ecco la lista completa di album e relativi contenuti: come potete notare Out Of Our Heads e Aftermath appaiono sia nella edizione inglese che in quella americana.
