R.E.M – R.E.M. At The BBC – Craft/Universal 8 CD + 1 DVD – 19-10-2018

Dopo il Box dello scorso anno dedicato a Automatic For The People, e quello dell’anno precedente incentrato su Out Of Time, anche nel 2018 i R.E.M. (o la loro casa discografica) non ci fanno mancare un bel cofanetto per il periodo natalizio. Anzi, anticipano l’uscita del manufatto già al mese di ottobre, il giorno 19. Ci sarà anche una versione doppia, sia in CD che in LP, con un Best Of estratto dalla edizione più completa.

Best Of Rem At The BBC

Brevemente, per riepilogare i contenuti più interessanti. nella parte audio troviamo una Peel Session del 1998 e un’altra più lunga BBC Session, sempre del 1998, che occupa un dischetto intero. Tra il materiale dal vivo abbiamo un concerto dal vivo a Nottingham del novembre 1984, che occupa sempre un CD. E ancora l’esibizione a Milton Keynes del 30 luglio 1995, addirittura su 2 CD, e sempre su due supporti anche quella completa al Festival di Glastonbury del giugno 1999. Nel DVD ci sono Accelerating Backwards, una trasmissione di un’ora andata in solo sulla BBC  e mai pubblicata prima e anche il numero speciale del 1998 di Later….With Jools Holland dedicato alla esibizione completa dei R.E.M., oltre a tre video di altre esibizioni alla televisione inglese.
