La prima non dovrebbe essere neppure considerata una ristampa, visto che si tratta di un concerto mai pubblicato prima, ma per convenzione la inseriamo in questa categoria. Dopo la lunga serie di Jerry Garcia Live, tornano le uscite di archivio curate dalla Garcia Family Provisions e pubblicate anche dalla ATO Records, e non da Grateful Dead Records e Rhino: si tratta di un cofanetto da 6 CD che contiene 3 diversi concerti tenuti al French’s Camp dell’Eel River a Piercy, California il 29 Agosto 1987; 10 Giugno 1989; e 10 Agosto 1991, quindi con cadenza biennale.

Sempre a proposito di concerti e di cofanetti, ecco la solita proposta della Famiglia Zappa: si tratta di un cofanetto da 5 CD che contiene la versione ampliata e potenziata del celebre Zappa In New York, concerto registrato a fine 1976 al Palladium di New York, e poi pubblicato nel 1978, quindi come 40° Anniversario in entrambi i casi non ci siamo, ma ormai abbiamo capito che per la case discografiche le date sono un optonial. Ovviamente non si tratta degli stessi concerti di questo Box https://discoclub.myblog.it/2017/10/01/e-questo-occhio-al-formato-e-alla-confezione-frank-zappa-halloween-77-costume-boxset-e-altre-amenita-famigliari/, che invece aveva rispettato con precisione la data di uscita.
Il contenuto come d’abitudine è ricco e variegato, e anche il prezzo, visto che indicativamente si parla di una cifra tra tra gli 85 e i 95 euro, bella la confezione però, e anche concerto e formazione spettacolari, come sempre per Zappa comunque.

Per la serie una bella edizione Deluxe non si nega a nessuno, il trattamento speciale viene riservato anche a Talk Is Cheap, il primo disco solista di Keith Richards, uscito nel 1988 (e quindi anche questa volta non ci siamo con i 30 anni, oltre a tutto cambia anche l’etichetta, visto che in origine era la Virgin). E proprio se vogliamo esagerare non è che il disco fosse entusiasmante, diciamo un buon disco a parte qualche brano, ma per i dischi solo del chitarrista dei Rolling Stones è sempre stato così, con l’eccezione gradita del terzo ed ultimo finora https://discoclub.myblog.it/2015/10/01/qui-strabico-ce-il-cuore-keith-richards-crosseyed-heart/ , veramente un bel disco. Per fortuna, oltre alla mega edizione Deluxe che più che inutile è superflua, e dovrebbe costare all’incirca un 150 euro, uscirà anche une versione molto più abbordabile in 2 CD, con è tracce inedite.
