Ammetto di essere sempre stato un grande fan di Rory Gallagher, per cui quando qualche tempo fa avevo saputo dell’uscita di questo box ero combattuto tra il timore della ennesima fregatura (perché spesso il materiale raro ed inedito contenuto in questo tipo di pubblicazioni è talmente minimo da sconsigliarne l’acquisto) e la speranza che, visto che il materiale proviene dagli archivi gestiti dalla famiglia di Rory, ed in particolare dal fratello Donal, che da parecchi anni cura le (ri)pubblicazioni del vecchio materiale dell’artista irlandese, per l’occasione avremmo avuto quello che ci aspettavamo. E questa volta, per una volta tanto, il lavoro di ricerca del materiale raro ed inedito è stato quasi certosino, con la presenza tra i 36 brani che faranno parte di questo Blues di ben il 90% di pezzi mai pubblicati prima. Oltre a tutto anche il prezzo che viene annunciato è veramente interessante, a livello indicativo dovrebbe essere intorno ai 20-22 euro.

Quindi non ci rimane che attendere il 31 maggio per godere di queste piccole delizie sonore di uno dei più grandi esponenti di sempre del blues bianco nei suoi vari aspetti più genuini, ruspanti ed appassionanti, un altro tassello di una carriera incredibile e forse fin troppo breve.
