Bob Dylan – The Rolling Thunder Revue The 1975 Live Recordings – 14 CD Columbia/Legacy – 07-06-2019
Se ne parlava da qualche tempo, ma alla fine è stata ufficializzata l’uscita del cofanetto di Bob Dylan dedicato alla Rolling Thunder Revue del 1975, con le registrazioni di 5 concerti completi di quel tour che attraverso 57 date tenute tra il 30 Ottobre 1975 e il 25 Maggio 1976 portò Dylan e la sua troupe di musicisti, amici e ospiti vari in giro per tutti gli Stati Uniti. Nel cofanetto da 14 CD saranno inclusi anche 3 dischetti con le prove di ottobre 1975 prima del partenza della tournée, e un ulteriore dischetto di rarità registrate durante i vari concerti.
Sempre in quei giorni (il 12 giugno, e l’11 l’anteprima nei cinema, per poter poi essere candidato agli Oscar occorre anche questa procedura) verrà presentato in alcune sale in giro per il mondo e poi sulla piattaforma di Netflix anche il film di Martin Scorsese Rolling Thunder Revue: a Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, nella parole di presentazione. in parte un documentario, in parte un film concerto e in parte sogno febbrile, il film cattura lo spirito inquieto dell’America nel 1975 e la musica gioiosa che Dylan ha suonato durante l’autunno di quell’anno. Parte di questo materiale era giù uscita su No Direction Home il documentario sempre di Scorsese su Dylan e soprattutto nel film di His Bobness Renaldo e Clara, per la parte video, e nel volume 5 delle Bootleg Series per la parte audio. Rimangono comunque più di 100 brani mai pubblicati prima.

La band che accompagnava Dylan era formata da Mick Ronson, T-Bone Burnett, Scarlet Rivera, David Mansfield, Steven Soles, Rob Stoner e Howie Wyeth, mentre tra gli ospiti che si avvicendarono nelle varie date ci furono Joan Baez, Roger McGuinn, Joni Mitchell, Ronee Blakely, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Bob Neuwirth, Allen Ginsberg e altri. Leggendo i contenuti del cofanetto i concerti riguardano nella loro totalità le date della prima parte del tour, quindi rimangono esclusi quelli che si tennero tra il 18 aprile e il 25 maggio del 1976, dopo l’uscita dell’album Desire avvenuta il 5 gennaio di quell’anno, mentre su Hard Rain il live pubblicato sempre nel 1976 il 13 settembre, finirono gli estratti dai due concerti della Rolling Thunder Revue del 16 e 23 maggio.

Quindi una occasione più che ghiotta per gustarsi uno degli eventi storici della musica degli anni ’70, pare anche ad un prezzo interessante.
Naturalmente dopo l’uscita del 7 giugno ci sarà la recensione completa del box dell’amico Marco Verdi, che credo venga a saperlo al momento, ma non penso sia colto particolarmente a sorpresa dalla cosa.
