Il titolo del Post potrebbe far pensare che, improvvisamente, sia assurto a poteri divinatori, ma più prosaicamente si tratta della Rubrica delle Anticipazioni allargata ad un più ampio raggio temporale. Visto che lo fanno molte riviste (cartacee e virtuali) del settore musicale, ogni tanto mi cimento anch’io.
Partiamo con “l’oggetto” che mi ha dato lo spunto per questa carrellata. Il 28 febbraio, sempre per la indipendente Wanamaker Recording (nel senso che li fa proprio lui materialmente), torna l’eccellente Otis Gibbs con questo Harder Than Hammered Hell che fa seguito a Joe Hill’s Ashes che, per chi scrive, era stato uno dei migliori album del 2010 le-ceneri-di-joe-hill-otis-gbbs.html: per chi ama lo Springsteen acustico, Steve Earle, Greg Brown ma anche Dylan e Johnny Cash.
Il nuovo Paul Weller, Sonic Kicks, è in uscita il 20 marzo p.v. per per la Island e la settimana successiva negli States su Yep Rock. Tra gli ospiti Noel Gallagher e Graham Coxon: non mancherà la solita edizione CD+DVD con libro rilegato allegato. Questo è uno dei brani nuovi…
Sempre in ambito inglese l’ex leader dei Supergrass (che si sono sciolti) Gaz Coombes pubblicherà il suo esordio solista Here Comes The Bombs il 21 maggio per la Hot Fruit Recordings…
In un giorno e mese non precisati del 2012 tornano anche i P.I.L. di John Lydon. L’album è pronto da tempo ma, a detta di Lydon, a causa di X-Factor non riuscivano ad avere un contratto discografico. Il disco da solista di Jack White è annunciato in uscita il 24 aprile per la Third Man Records/Columbia negli Stati Uniti e per la XL Recordings in Europa, si chiamerà Blunderbluss.
Il 3 Aprile tornano anche le Wilson Phillips (ma se ne sentiva la mancanza?) con un album intitolato Dedicated per la Sony Masterworks (l’etichetta di classica del gruppo giapponese), sarà perché contiene questi brani?...

Il 10 aprile i Counting Crows pubblicheranno il loro primo album indipendente dopo la fine del contratto con la Geffen/Universal, si chiamerà Underwater Sunshine (or what we did on our summer vacation) e si tratterà di un disco tutto di cover, alcune già uscite come b-sides o bonus tracks di alcuni album del passato, ma pare che tutto sia stato registrato per l’occasione, questa la tracklist con a fianco gli artisti orginali:

Non so se l’avete vista a Sanremo con Gigi D’Alessio (?!?) ma questo album Covered (ebbene sì, si tratta di cover) mi sembra meglio dell’avventura italiana, anche se le collaborazioni con Nicole Scherzinger e Mc Lyte se le poteva risparmiare.
